He Completes Me

January 30, 2018

“Why did the King of Hearts marry the Queen of Hearts? They were perfectly suited for each other”

Haha I know corny joke!

We can all remember Snow White singing “Someday my prince will come, some day I’ll find true love...” we all love to dream of ourselves in a fairytale as a princess finding a prince and living happily ever after. But how do we get there?

I can remember myself as a young teenage girl dreaming of a husband, and family. In those dreams we girls think of a special day, feeling beautiful in THE dress we’ve designed in our head, with all of our friends and family gazing as the sun is setting and we say “I Do”! Those dreams can quickly turn into a nightmare if we are looking to a mate to complete us! How can we expect our boyfriend/spouse to do Gods job? Jesus needs to be our source and COMPLETE us!

2 Corinthians 12:9 says “But he said to me, “My grace is SUFFICIENT for you, for my power is made PERFECT in weakness.”

In our culture today we put so much priority on finding the RIGHT person instead of BECOMING the right person!

In 2002 I married my high school sweetheart and I quickly learned as wonderful as a Man that my husband is, He could not complete me! He is human, he will let me down, He can’t be my source.

A relationship/marriage will not fix the brokenness in your life, most of the time it will MAGNIFY the brokenness. Relationships work the best when two people are living a surrendered life and relying on God to complete them!

God has never called us to perfection but a heart surrendered to Him.

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

God WANTS to be your source, your refuge, a shelter in your time of need! Take Him your fears, concerns, failures, anger. He has big shoulders, He can take it all!

Invest yourself in His word to find His promises for you and He will give you the worth you are seeking!

Ecclesiastes 3:11

“He has made everything beautiful in its time”

My prayer for you reading this is to find yourself in Christ, a new creation, living in wholeness and knowing your worth in Him and Him alone!

While you are in this time being single, allow God to help you BECOME Ms Right instead of just looking for a Mr Right!
